In 1992, Richard composed music to City of Joy, a film directed by Roland Joffé, with a screenplay by Mark Medoff.

Richard has also composed music to the award-winning and highly-acclaimed 2003 feature film Song for a Raggy Boy.

In 2007, Richard composed music to The World Unseen, an award-winning movie based on a novel by Shamim Sharif. lnovelsameTITLEtitle written by Shamim Sarif.

In 1998, Richard was asked to compose music to Prometheus, the first feature film of Tony Harrison.
